Powder coating has been used extensively in the metal industry for many years. MDF panels can be coated in high quality using low-temperature wood powder coatings containing resins, pigments, and additives. MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) panels used in the furniture industry are completely painted with powder paint and a very durable surface is obtained.
The MDF surface is electrostatically charged and painted with powder paint guns. The coated MDF then passes through the furnace, the powder coating hardens at a certain temperature and a smooth surface is obtained.
After a short cooling time, the parts can be packaged or further processed. The optimal combination of powder coating, hardening technology, furnace design, requirements for MDF sheets and a sophisticated quality assurance system leads to process reliability that is widely applied today.
